' Bluff Lake Nature Center, Denver: This little-known park is located on the eastern edge of the former Stapleton Airport in Denver, near Havana Way and Martin Luther King Boulevard, south of Smith Road, along Sand Creek. Leave your dog at home and look for badger, beaver, coyote, rabbit, raccoon, red fox, mule deer and Great Horned Owls. The park is open sunrise to sunset daily. ' Barr Lake State Park, Brighton: Barr Lake is a stopover for migrating birds, and home to hawks and eagles.
